Hey there ^^ I was looking through otome game tags and I saw that you play star project :D Which I just started playing :D So... how do you like it? ^^ is it fun? hard? :D
It’s November~! It’s six months since this question was first asked! *cue brick smacking me upside the head* I do believe apologies are in order. I’m terribly sorry for all the wait. ^^;; There were a couple of crashes that interfered with this being answered in a timely manner and I am actually hideously squirrelly and quite easily distracted. This all said, gosh I hope you’re enjoying the game! At this point you’re like as not quite the pro and branched out to the other exciting otoges that are exploding into english translations. So thank you very much for asking really, and I wish you all the best in gaming~!
Right though, to the actual answering portion. Despite sharing insight here and there I still haven’t really put down my two cents on Star Project Feels. And seeing how I’ll never really fully write a review on the game (because frankly that’d entail playing near to 80% of the content and that’s not going to happen anytime soon) here’s just as well to dig into the bones. Also a plus because I’ll get to be informal and extremely wordy so TL:DR warning!
HEREIN LIE THE THICK OF PAPERTHIEF’S THOUGHTS AS TO STAR PROJECT ONLINE
StaPro has a rather unique system which manages to be double edged. It’s primarily a stat raising game so there’s a certain amount of grinding to be done and upon achieving one of the required levels you are then awarded with an event of the actual storyline. It features a striking cast of characters and mini scenarios you can trip while playing through the games. This is all very well and good but considering the actual level you have to reach to have experienced the full play through it flirts with monotony.
The constancy of maintaining the star’s mood to be favorable is at times, wearying and strikes something of a needy tone in the relationship. Granted, in that type of business this might be expected and could be handled well but the structure of the sequencing is such that it really doesn’t hit me that the characters care for each other with a convincing depth. For one thing, after an event I wasn’t really spawning different encounters in which the change is a distinct factor.
Couple that with the flavoring of the storylines and I’m not all that keen to add the game to my top favorites. To be clear, the premise is interesting and the individual path of the romance interest at hand is good and consistent to the character from what I’ve seen, usually. But they don’t move me especially; they don’t touch my heart with a lasting impression. There are tropes that they follow faithfully but some developments are a bit too transparent. I don’t have the sense of intimacy that forms naturally within these sorts of relationships and the suspension of disbelief is stretched a bit too far sometimes.
On the whole it is entertaining and I do play it and encourage others to try it out because it is rather charming but it’s not an otome game among the greats. It’s sweet fluff and wonky fun.
/possibly unpopular opinion?
/post/21649283806/maybe-its-the-way-his-hand-is-positioned-damn I saw this while I was browsing through the otoge games tag. I thought I was the only one who likes this man. ; A ;
Linkage for said post in question! BECAUSE AWWW YIIIIIIISSS. And also blushu, wow I just remembered the thought I thought right after the part with the two ands where I stopped for propriety’s sake. *coughs* Anyhow~! Anon, I loooove you and you have good taste yes. So here’s a little shooped presenty I made by combining the LOOK and the office where desk is and my oh my etceraness. C:
did you finish touya's story already? i didn't finish it yet but i really want to do ren's... > < gahhhhh
This was asked probably a month or two ago! I’m making a notation for repentance in taking so long and will make more helpful otome posts taking this in consideration. That said, my apologies on getting carried away. ^^;;
Honest admission here? I haven’t. >//w//< I really haven’t even been raising his stats to the level I need. We’re at 34 right now eheheheheh. Annnd despite all that I went ahead and started on Ren’s. Because it was a character type I found more appealing and the newness etc. But hey, if you’re still holding out more power to ya, and I am in absolute awe. /+I Otopost
SO. Say hello to manager’s face :D Especially her… PINK EYES.
OHMYGLOB YES. EYES. PAAIINKU EYES. OTP 5EVER BBEHS.
Hello!! For all you fans of Star-Project, theres another korean game coming out!! I believe its going to be translated soon :D I also heard the game is fully voiced in korean *O* I’ll link the site below! This game looks really interesting >w<
Side Note: It looks like its going to be a mix of Peter Pan o.O Not sure c:
…Which is to say that I AM SO EXCITE I CANNOT EVEN TO FIND WORDS MISAPPROPRIATE HAPPINESS. A Neverland Korean Otome game that may be translated to English? ALL YES TO THE PLEAAAAASE BABIES~! Although, I may be misunderstanding that last. Hmm. Time to go find out.
Hi, sorry to bother you, but I have a question about StarProject and it seems as if you've been playing it lately. I read somewhere that if we don't read Ren's scenarios, then we can keep him longer. I was wondering if pressing 'no' when SP asks us to read his scenarios counts as read or unread. Do you know which one it is?
NO BOTHER~! I love to answer questions but am unfortunately, fatheaded about getting them in a timely manner. So my apologies to you m’dear.
As to the question, HEH. I might have started that bit, but looks like you read it from BonBonBunny’s tumblog. Frankly, I was a little confused as to how that went too actually and had intended to post to the forums to see if anyone else had insight, specifically, the devs. But as Otome Sweetheart has revealed, it looks like if you’ve read the prologue you’re doomed though of course I might have that wrong.
Honestly, I’d always clicked no because I wasn’t quite ready but somehow I have the CGs and scenarios as read. So I think there’s probably still some bugs to the system and stuff. Sorry I couldn’t make things more clear and etc.
Final post for the night. I was supposed to have cleared all these before so I could start on my LPing but ehhhhh. Too tired now to do that. =S
Anyhow. This is to show how cute Touya can look like with brown hair and as a friendly reminder that they have two new outfits for him. Oh and then the expressions trololol~
*Most Unexpected Fangirl Flailing Award*
Okay so Ren is going on stage in 5 minutes but he’s surreptitiously clearing his throat. Our protag-chan picks up on the note and asks him what’s wrong.
What are words going to do in this junction eh? And that last one is probably an old folks remedy but we really don’t have the time to be racing the clock now. So of course I chose the 2nd one. Ren’s kind of “oh, that’s..that’s kind and thanks” which is pleasing to see. His throat feels better yanno, only there’s something odd. Being, the taste. So he asks about it because it’s a strange flavor and all.
I AM STILL NOT OVER IT AND OMG YES NOW I CAN SEE HER BEING LIKE DUMBLEDORE OR TAMAKI SUOH WITH HIS LOVE OF ALL THINGS PEASANT LIKE ONLY SHE LIKES THE COOL AND ODD THINGS BUT YEAH
Ren of course, just wants to forget he ever even asked because AUUUGH I ATE IT. EHEHEHEHEH HE ATE IT. You know, I feel sorry for him sometimes in dealing with this lady. This beauteous lady of awesomeness and dork of all.
In which I forget that there’s a reason why this is an event for Ren. I probably would have done that second one but I think they still have bugs because I tried and it didn’t work out. But yeah, we got us a badass over here. Forrealz.
Okay, wow. This was an interesting and very character driven scene. Well thought out and hilarious and plain wonderful in illustrating their differences. Because here you have Ren, someone used to money and in line to inheriting a major company having to deal with the protag-chan. The penny pinching and wholly gloriously savvy woman who can navigate the ways of the poor with experience. She’s ordering the couple’s set because there’s a discount and because it’s made cheaper as a promotional. And he’s rather uncomfortable with that both because he’s not sure about his feelings in regards to her and also because um, how embarrassing can it be to have the lovey dovey stuff and cheapness? So I liked this cafe bit, it’s quite wonderful. <3
I HAVE NEVER, NOT ONCE, GOTTEN PERFECTLY PERFECT ON DANCING.
Yes, that’s really sad because the lvl 1’s shouldn’t be that big of a deal but apparently my inability to dance is so bad it transfers over into game world and even in a situation where I’m really the director.
But whatever, SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW OMG.
HAVE SOME MORE GAME CUTENESS WHY DON’T YOU~
…I couldn’t resist. Chibis…and facial expressions…the cuteness, it overloads hnngh.
[Star Project] Contract Extensions?
Alright, I can’t be the only one curious about that bit they tacked on at the end of the intro right? So I get to digging deeper, here meaning that after taking the lovely Ren out for a spin around town I go to his room for answers.
His room which is amazing and wow, are we really in debt or is this a harem gathering game in actuality? Kudos to the lucky girl either way.
Now there’s a button I don’t have over on Touya’s. I think because we started with him and we are given his route free. Or something like that. An appetizer before the full course.
So from what I understand, we only get a certain amount of time to achieve full marks of story and happy happy joy joy ending. If we can meet the deadline and achieve true love’s kiss then we get to keep our voice and legs. If not, we have to buy days with stars. I may be wrong however, in which case feel free to enlighten. But this is just a heads up to you all players.
